The Sentiero Valtellina is a cycle-pedestrian path that runs from Colico to Bormio, for a total of 114 Km, mostly on a dedicated route with an asphalted carriageway, two-way traffic, alongside the Adda River and in a context of high environmental and natural value.
The path is dedicated to "soft" mobility, for the safe enjoyment of the territory, for leisure and free time by so-called vulnerable users, pedestrians and cyclists. Every user of the path is required to respect other users, avoiding behavior that could impede the normal use of the path.
Access to and use of the cycle-pedestrian path is permitted in compliance with these rules and current legal provisions.
The Sentiero Valtellina is open to the public during daylight hours: every day of the year from km 0+000 to km 30+000; from March 1 to October 31 from km 30+001 to km 89+000; from April 1 to October 31 from km 89+001 to km 114+270, unless otherwise ordered. Users must travel the path with maximum attention and prudence and, in the case of bicycles, at a speed not exceeding 20 km/h.
These rules apply to the entire cycle-pedestrian route, to the adjacent areas, and to the equipped areas created and identified as such.
Every user is required to respect other users, avoiding behavior that could impede the normal use of the paths.
Bicycles must proceed at a speed not exceeding 20 km/h and in any case appropriate to safety conditions. Dogs must be kept on a leash and owners are responsible for cleaning up after them.
Access to motorized vehicles is prohibited except with specific authorization. Excluded from the prohibition are emergency, surveillance, and maintenance vehicles.
Authorized transit must occur at limited speed (max 10 km/h) and with respect for cycle and pedestrian priority.
Events must be authorized by the competent authorities and respect the established conditions.
Surveillance is entrusted to the bodies appointed by law.
Offenders will be punished according to the Highway Code and current regulations.
